While playing initially for many franchisees in the IPL, Jadeja finally joined CSK( Chennai Super kings) in the year 2012. In 2011, he was roped in by the Kochi Tuskers Kerala for $950,000. Apparently, Kochi Tuskers were terminated from the IPL in September 2011, and in the 2012 IPL player auction, Jadeja was picked by the Chennai Super Kings for $2 million (approx. Rs. 9.8 crores) after a close contest with Deccan Chargers that came up with the same bid.
While his initial days were not that fruitful, he made some memorable performances from both bat and ball for the team in yellow over the years.
