Who is Sameer Rizvi and why he got so famous?
Before attracting a bid of 8 crores and 40 lakhs from the Chennai super kings in IPL Auction 2024, no one knew much about Sameer. Yet, this batter is highly famous after his prolific display in the recently concluded UPT20 league.
While being just 20 years old, Sameer Rizvi, 20, hit the most sixes for the Kanpur Superstars in the recently concluded UPT20 league. In the tournament, he also scored 455 runs in nine innings and recorded two scorching hundreds. Before that Sameer went for trails for three teams, including the Punjab Kings in the past.
Rizvi, however, was forced to miss the trials due to obligations with the UP Under-23 team. However, while playing for the UP Under-23s, he went on to score a splendid 91 off 65 deliveries in a one-day match against Rajasthan. This was not just it as given his amazing performance, UP went on to win that tournament. Sameer Rizvi scored a magnificent 84 off 50 balls in the championship game and caught everyone’s eye.
